Since March 2024, the CYF “Keep the Park Clean and Beautiful” project has hosted more than 10 monthly volunteer events. Each event has drawn participation from several to as many as 20 families, with children ranging in age from 6 years old to high school seniors, accompanied by their parents. During each three-hour session, youth and parents, guided by Hermann Park gardeners, have taken part in tasks such as weeding and mulching plant beds, planting and watering trees, removing invasive plants, and cleaning and maintaining trails across various areas of the park, including McGovern Centennial Gardens and the Commons. The enthusiastic involvement of CYF volunteers has significantly lightened the gardeners’ daily workload and made a meaningful contribution to preserving the park’s ecological environment.
"I highly encourage you to join the Clemence Youth Foundation—it’s a wonderful place to have fun, make new friends, and grow through meaningful volunteer work. I have been a CYF project lead for 'Keep the Park Clean and Beautiful,' volunteer event since 2024. This is a monthly volunteer event held on Saturdays at Hermann Park. CYF volunteers support the park’s gardeners with tasks such as weeding and mulching plant beds, planting and watering trees, removing invasive plants, and maintaining trails. Everyone is welcome to join us and make a difference in our community!" - Alyssa Kuang, CYF Youth Leadership
