Alyssa Kuang is currently an 8th grader at the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School and is excited to attend HSPVA for high school in the fall of 2025. She enjoys a wide range of hobbies, including singing, reading, and cooking. Alyssa is an active member of Scouts of America and has been involved with the Clemence Youth Foundation (CYF) since 2022. In 2024, she took on the role of project lead for CYF’s “Keep the Park Clean and Beautiful” volunteer initiative. That same year, she was honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Award Gold Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to community service.
Eric Xiong is currently an 8th grader at Stafford STEM Magnet Academy and will be attending Strake Jesuit College Preparatory for high school in the upcoming school year. He is a dedicated and well-rounded student who actively participates in a variety of extracurricular activities, including competitive swimming, piano, and debate. He is also the vice president of the National Junior Honor Society in his school and serves as a representative on the student council. Through these activities, Eric has developed strong discipline, critical thinking, and time management skills that he applies both in and out of the classroom.
Outside of school, Eric is passionate about giving back to the community. He regularly volunteers his time and energy to serve others and make a positive impact. Since September of 2023, he has been leading the monthly CYF-Care for Seniors volunteer performances, organizing events and coordinating with other students to bring music and joy to local senior centers. His leadership in this program reflects his commitment to service and his ability to inspire others to contribute as well.
He has been recognized with honors such as the President's Volunteer Service Award for his dedication to community service and the Project Leader Award for his role in organizing meaningful volunteer initiatives. These experiences have helped him grow as a leader and shaped his understanding of the importance of compassion, responsibility, and civic engagement. As he transitions into high school, Eric looks forward to continuing his involvement in service, academics, and extracurriculars while finding new ways to challenge himself and support his community.
Kyle Yang is 11th grader at Kinkaid High School. He has played golf competitively for over 10 years, and is a varsity member of his school’s golf team. In addition to golf, he competes as a varsity debater and enjoys practicing archery and playing piano in his free time. Kyle began as one of the coaches for the Intro to Golf project and has served as the youth leader for the past three years. Kyle joined CYF because he believes in the importance of youth mentorship. Mentorship fosters growth in both the student and the mentor, creating a mutually enriching experience. He is also passionate about golf and is committed to promoting the positive impact the sport can have on individuals.
Lonny Sui, 9th grade at Dulles High School math and science academy. Outside school, Lonny is learning piano, violin and playing violin at school orchestra and Houston Youth symphony. He won several awards during the competitions for piano and violin. His hobbies include robotics, coding and Rubik’s cubes. He plays water polo at Fort Bend Aquatic Club. He takes senior leadership role at Scouting America. He also loves to help the people in the community. Currently Lonny is working as a youth volunteer leader for WeCom teaching senior people how to use electronic devices. He created this volunteer team when he was 11. He also loves helping elementary students with their homework. He created WeCamp summer camp program when he was 8.
Olivia Zhang is a junior at Clements High School with a strong commitment to leadership, service, and the arts. As a nationally recognized ballet dancer, she has placed in the top 10 at a national competition and earned 2nd place at YAGP regionals, showcasing her dedication and discipline. Beyond the stage, she leads several impactful initiatives, including co-founding the Books4Good FBISD book drive and serving as a youth counselor at a summer leadership camp each year. She also led the teacher assistant volunteer program at the Clements Youth Foundation, helping organize and guide student volunteers in classroom settings. She takes leadership in many clubs at school and is one of three students selected from her school for the district’s prestigious Student Leadership 101 program. Through her work with the Clements Youth Foundation, she continues to support and organize service projects that empower students and uplift the community.
Zhiling Zhang is in 12th grade at the Awty International School. She has a passion for discovering the world through the Life Sciences, which is her planned college major. Outside of school, she is involved in musical activities, such as playing the flute. She also participates in sports, including volleyball. She believes it is important to connect with the community and practice empathy towards others, which is why she was motivated to become a youth leader and start the Houston Food Bank volunteering project.
